Quince Render Lab ("the Lab", "we") is a web application for rendering 3D product shots, run by Quince Creative (quincemedia.com) at lab.quincemedia.com. This page explains what the Lab does with your data. It is short on purpose, because the Lab collects very little.
1. Your 3D files stay on your computer unless you save them to the cloud
Models, textures, HDRI images and CAD files you open are processed in your browser, and rendering runs on your own graphics card. Nothing is uploaded when you open a file, edit it, render it or export a PNG or GLB. A file leaves your computer only when you choose Save to Cloud (or share a project or a render).
2. What we collect
- Account data, when you sign in: your email address, and the name and profile picture that your Google account provides. We use the email address to identify your account and to let other people share a project with you.
- What you save to the cloud: project files (the 3D model, textures, material and scene settings, thumbnails), saved renders, and the email addresses of the people you share a project with.
- Technical data that any web server sees when you load the page (IP address, browser type), kept only in the hosting provider's ordinary logs.
We do not use advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not sell your data. We use Google Analytics only if you agree to it (see below).
Analytics (Google Analytics)
When you first open the Lab or the Video Compressor it asks whether it may use Google Analytics 4. If you choose No thanks, nothing is loaded from Google and nothing is sent. If you choose Accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies and we learn how the Lab is used: which features are used (for example that a render finished, a PNG was saved, a template was opened), the kind of file that was opened (GLB, STEP…), render settings such as the number of samples and the image width, in the Video Compressor that a video was opened (its codec and size class), which quality button or kind of setting was used, that a compression finished and a file was downloaded, and the usual technical data of a visit (approximate location from the IP address, browser, device, screen size). We never send the names of your models, files, projects or materials, your email address, or anything from inside your files. Your videos are never uploaded, and they are not sent to Google. Advertising features and Google signals are switched off. The data is processed by Google (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC) and kept for 14 months.
Your choice is kept in this browser.
3. Data stored in your browser
The Lab keeps preferences on your device: panel sizes, render presets, your own material library (IndexedDB), unsent drafts and your sign-in session. This data stays in your browser; clearing the site data removes it. There are no advertising cookies; Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept analytics.
4. Sign in with Google
If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture. We use them only to sign you in and to show who you are in the Lab. The Lab's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising and do not transfer it to third parties, except to provide the service as described here.
5. Who processes the data
- Supabase: authentication, database and private file storage for accounts and cloud projects. Files are kept in a private bucket and are served to you with short-lived signed links.
- Cloudflare: hosting of the application.
- Google: sign-in, if you choose it, and Google Analytics, if you accept it.
6. Sharing
A cloud project is visible only to you and to the people you add by email (with "can view" or "can edit"). A share link gives access to a render to anyone who has the link; you can stop sharing at any time. We do not look at your files, except where needed to keep the service running or to deal with abuse.
7. How long we keep it
Your projects and renders stay until you delete them. You can delete projects, renders and your unlinked shared files yourself in the Lab. On request, we delete your account and everything stored under it. Because this is an alpha, the service and its storage may also be reset; keep a local .qproj copy of work you care about (File → Save to file).
8. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent (for example by deleting your account). If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
9. Children
The Lab is not intended for people under 16.
10. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will change the date above and, where possible, say so in the Lab.
